Dance with God!!!
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” - John 17:20-23 NKJV
These are days of great opportunity for us to move in this union with God as never before. I believe if we are going to move in this power and demonstration we need to learn to dance with God. There is a theological term called perichoresis that depicts the union that God shares within the Godhead. “Proverbs 8:22-31; John 1:1-3, 18; 15:26; 17:5; and John 17:24; 14:31 give us a peek into the fellowship in the Godhead. The theological term for this is perichoresis, which contains the idea of interpenetration and interpermeation. The metaphor has been commonly used for it is that of a dance” (Sweet, Leonard & Viola, Frank, “Jesus: A Theography,” 351). The unity of the Godhead is described through the use of this term and beautiful illustration of the dance. Jesus prayed in His great High Priestly Prayer that we as believers would share in this union and literally share in the dance with God. Before Jesus suffered the passion He lifted this prayer that we would dance with God in oneness. Five times in this prayer Jesus prayed for this dance. He prayed that as we dance with God, there would be a great demonstration of this union to the world! There has never been a more critical time for us to function in and have an outflow from our lives of this union with God. If we are going to move in the power of God we have to learn to dance with God. We pray that the Lord will release a greater longing for revelation of this tremendous reality in and demonstration through our lives.
