Living Invisible!! Part 1
The tendency in our human nature is to be seen, to take the credit, to press for status and recognition. Even within the culture of the church there is the jostling for position, the politics of who you know and the prestige of status. Jesus condemned these very things in the religious sector of His day. (Luke 11:42-43) These religious leaders cared more about the appearance than carrying forward the kingdom and justice and the love of God. Jesus levels a strong indictment against the very populous that should have demonstrated these things to the world around them. In a culture that is increasingly self-serving and self-absorbed it is imperative that we take on the kingdom identity of living invisible. If we take a fresh look at the history of our faith through the lenses of invisibility we will be astonished to see that it was those who cared the least about their own aggrandizement and the most about making God known and adored that made the greatest impact. What if we lived invisible? What if we took their example? What if we cared more about His fame rather than our own?
