Christmas - the Movement of Heaven!!
- Luke 2:8-16 CEV
Christmas, the holiday’s very name itself is filled with Christ. The very first Christmas was more than a date on the calendar. It was an invasion, an infiltration, an expression of Heaven on earth!! Marking the event of God coming in the flesh was a vast array of heavenly movement. On the very night of His arrival the heavens opened and angelic pronouncement and joyous singing were experienced by the shepherds. Heaven itself could not keep from expressing its jubilation at this paradigmic event! History was about to change and Heaven broke into earth’s realm to witness the significance of what was occurring. Even before His birth visions and angelic activity were widely experienced. The birth of the Messiah was truly God breaking into our earthly realm in a very personal way. As our Christmas celebrations are filled with gifts and festivities, food and lights, let our hearts be reminded of Heaven’s purpose in His coming! As surely as we look upon the Baby in a manger we are witnessing the infiltration of Heaven into our world! Heavenly voices came to bear witness to this occurrence! Heaven’s message and mission was the restoration of joy to the earth. And oh, how this restoration is still needed today! More than just our voices lifted in song let our hearts encounter the Christ of Christmas. He’s not just a Baby in a manger; He’s the Messiah come to restore our identity and image to His own. While we celebrate this wonderful Christmas holiday, let’s allow our hearts to once again be captured by the invasion of Christmas. Christ came to fill all things – let Him find space in us! This Christmas may your hearts and homes be infiltrated with the joy and celebration of Heaven over the birth of God’s Son! May the awe and wonder of that first Christmas fill our heart as His Presence fills our lives!
We wish you a most blessed and joyous Christmas from our home to yours!!
Love from WILD!
