Walking in His Authority!
There’s so much written about how dark, difficult, and pressure-filled the last days will be. The relational challenges will be on the rise as many will be offended, many will betray one another, and many will hate one another (Matthew 24:10). These will be days filled with difficulty and stress, but it may be that we have overlooked something. God has never changed His plan for believers. Could it be that we are to excel when times are hard? Could it be that we are to shine brighter the darker it gets? Could it be that as the world is descending into chaos and brokenness that God’s people should be a beacon of hope and help in the midst of it all?
I believe this is absolutely His plan! As we see prophetic fulfillment rapidly unfolding, people all over the world are in search of answers, truth, and stability. These things can only come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Good News is still the Good News. Jesus is still the Savior, Redeemer, Healer; the One Who calms the storm. It is time for the Church to come into its full identity as the Body of Christ and begin to carry ourselves in the same manner in which Jesus did. He walked into humanity’s mess with a message of hope. He walked into the despair of human brokenness and sin’s curse manifested in us through sin, sickness and disease; yet He didn’t just despair over our condition – He met these things head on and brought transformation. Where there was hunger He brought multiplication and increase and fed them. Where there was the isolation, hopelessness, and pain of disease He brought healing. Where the darkness of the demonized had shut them away from society – Jesus broke in with power and with a word set the captive free.
Jesus infiltrated the society of the captive and broke them out of their bonds. Our call is to do this very thing – to continue the ministry of Jesus, to bring hope and healing where satan has ravaged. Just before Jesus left this earth He left His followers with a charge to go into all the world. Our call is to not just bring a message but to bring the Messiah, the Deliver to those who have not met Him yet. Jesus desires people of our day to have the same help that He brought to them in His day.
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." Mark 16:15-18 NKJV
